HE said he was a youngster looking for love.

A mysterious youth has covered the streets of Winchester in posters looking for 'Victoria', a girl he claimed caught his eye in a city bookshop.

Homemade flyers and chalk etchings asking '#AreYouMyVictoria' have swept the city, with hundreds sharing images on social media in a bid to find the elusive book-lover.

But Ben's campaign is a hoax by students learning about online marketing.

Students at Winchester University's School of Media and Film launched the viral campaign to promote an upcoming music video.

But they may have broken the law when they chalked on roads, pavements and even Winchester Guildhall.

Daily Echo:

A Winchester City Council spokesman said he was not aware of anyone giving permission and warned that unauthorised flyering or graffiti would be illegal.

Winchester University did not immediately offer comment when asked what permission the students sought.
