A MAN has been arrested after an armed police raid in a Hampshire city.
Specialist officers were sent to Colson Road, Winnall, Winchester, at around 1.45am on Sunday following reports of a disturbance in which a weapon was seen.
No-one was injured and a 43 year-old man from Winchester was arrested.
A police spokesman said the public could be reassured that it was an isolated incident and there is no further risk to local residents.
Police divers searched the nearby River Itchen on Sunday afternoon.
A police spokesman declined to confirm reports that a weapon had been recovered from the river.
Daren Bellcourt, of Colson Road, has been charged with possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence.
Bellcourt has been bailed to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on September 15.
