HAMPSHIRE TV presenter and model Katie Piper celebrated her dream wedding - seven years after an acid attack left her face severely scarred for life.

The 32-year-old married partner of four years, Richard Sutton in a ceremony on Friday.

Despite the huge challenges she has faced since, she has become an inspiration to millions for her positive attitude and determination.

The mother-of-one said: "Second only to the birth of our daughter, marrying Richie has been one of the best days of my life.

"I am so happy to have shared it with my close friends and family."

The day had extra significance, as Katie has suffered a number of health setbacks this year, which it was worried may mean the big day had to be postponed.

Earlier this year she missed the first birthday of the couple's daughter, Belle, after a complication during throat surgery and later she needed nose surgery to help her breathe.

Katie, from Andover, has undergone more than 100 operations to rebuild her face after she was badly disfigured in an acid attack in 2008.

At the time, she was Miss Winchester, but jealous ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch arranged for her to be attacked with acid by Stefan Sylvestre.

Sylvestre was jailed in 2009, and was given an indeterminate life sentence, meaning he will not be released until he is no longer deemed a threat to society, with parole due this year.

Lynch was also jailed for an indeterminate life sentence, and ordered to be serve at least 16 years before he would even been considered for release.
