THE OWNERS of a house in Hampshire are counting the cost of a fire today after a blaze started in the roof.
Firefighters from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the scene in Alresford Road after the fire began at about 7.50am.
Three crews – two from Winchester and a third from Eastleigh – were sent to the scene and spent an hour putting out the fire.
Firefighters had to use six breathing apparatus and two hose reels plus one jet to put out the fire in a semi-detached house.
The fire was contained to the roof space and no one was injured or evacuated.
