FIREFIGHTERS have been called to deal with two fires at a Hampshire prison in the last 24 hours.
Firefighters from Winchester and Eastleigh were rushed to HMP Winchester after a fire began in a cell at about 7.05pm last night.
Prison staff put out the fire, described as "small", before the firefighters were needed.
No one was hurt.
They were also called out this morning and 9.50am after White Watch had their first "shout" of the day.
They used a fan to clear fumes from a fire which had also been put out by prison staff.
Again, no one was injured.
