THE abuse of nine dogs dumped by a Hampshire road horrified animal-lovers across the world.

And now their story, originally reported by the Daily Echo, is set to be broadcast as part of a national TV show.

As reported the animals were abandoned in a terrible condition, with some severely underweight and so dirty that their eyes were glued together.

Our campaign raised more than £5,000 towards the RSPCA's bill for looking after the dogs.

And now Alan Davies is presenting a fourth series of the Dog Rescuers which will feature the animals.

Viewers will catch up with dog Mavis and her new owner Sally Firth and features a full grooming and pampering treatment for the pooch.

The show airs at 8pm on Tuesday, August 2, on Channel 5.
