TWO girls were left with whiplash when a driver dangerously overtook on a one-lane road in Winchester, their father has said.

The reckless motorist forced an oncoming driver to slam her brakes and then drove off, it is claimed.

Thomas Andrews, from Winchester, is appealing to find the culprit after the incident on Saturday afternoon.

He said his wife was driving down St Cross Road at around 2.30pm when the driver of a silver BMW moved in oncoming traffic at "excessive speed".

"To avoid collision, when the driver cut my wife off she sounded her horn and the driver emergency stopped right in front of her, causing my children to experience whiplash," said Mr Andrews on Facebook. "He then continued to drive off."

Mr Andrews said the car had dark tinted windows with green horizontal lines but declined to provide further details of what happened.

Hampshire Police said it had no records of the incident being reported.
