A BIRTHDAY card that has been sent between a Hampshire woman and her father for more than 30 years has gone missing in the post.

Now a twitter campaign to find the card has gone viral.

Claire Fuller,50, who is an author from Fulflood has been exchanging the card with her father Stephen Fuller,78 after she first sent it to him in the 80s.

Since then the card, which has a picture of a glum yellow duck wearing red wellington boots has been part of a tradition in her family.

The card went missing on February 10 after being posted by Mr Fuller.

Ms Fuller said she doesn’t blame Royal Mail for the mishap, and said they provide an “amazing service”.

Ms Fuller said: “They phoned me up this morning and were very apologetic, and they can’t promise anything and I do not hold out much hope.

“I will definitely still do it (the card), and I am going to recreate the card.”

“My dad is very like me, we are both upset by this and it is a shame, but it’s not devastating, there are far much more worrying things going on in the world.”

“It is a little piece of nostalgia that I receive through the post, and it is nice to see it.”

She said one of the issues of reusing the same card was the spaces were becoming increasingly hard to write on – as it had more than 30 years worth of messages on it.

People on Twitter have retweeted her tweet about the missing card nearly 8000 times.

Ms Fuller added:“I have never seen it like this, it is up to 8000 retweets, it has just gone crazy. It has obviously touched people, and so many messages are saying I hope you find it.”

“I have been very happy with Royal Mail, I do not blame them, and who knows my dad could have dropped it on the way to the post box.”

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “Every item of mail is very important to us. We deliver millions of items securely every day and we are very sorry that we let Ms Fuller down on this occasion.”
