WINCHESTER’S civic boss says she hopes to reduce redundancies by changing the ways of working for council staff.
The council is bracing itself for tough financial times but Councillor Kelsie Learney hopes that job losses can be minimised although she is not ruling them out Called the “1-Team” approach, the aim is to make civic staff more flexible, concentrating them where most needed and also reducing the need to cut posts.
“The recently launched 1-Team programme will allow us to reduce the pay bill by matching staff and their skills with our priorities, while allowing us to take advantage of vacancies,” said Cllr Learney.
