Southampton Solent University has been selected to test a new coaching and data collection tool created by rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward.
Solent lecturers and FA Coach Educators Tracey Bourne and Clywd Jones were invited to attend a training conference for the piece of software called ‘Captured’.
The tool is based on the philosophy Sir Clive employed during his time as head coach for the World Cup-winning English rugby team of 2003 and enables coaches and athletes to build, capture and share ‘books’ of knowledge in order to build up a personalised set of ‘winning moves’ and ‘winning practices’. If the pilot scheme is successful, the University will look to incorporate the software into its BA (Hons) Football Studies degree courses.
