Pupils at Hampshire Collegiate School near Romsey have achieved the school’s best ever A-level results.
Thirty-four per cent of A-level entries were awarded grades A* or A – a rise of 10 percentage points on last year.
Similarly, the proportion of A-levels receiving A* to C grades climbed 15 per cent to 87 per ent.
Seventeen per cent of all entries gained an A grade.
Principal, Emma-Kate Henry, said: “Our pupils are celebrating some excellent individual results today which are part of the best overall results the school has had for many years. As a result of their success, our pupils will be going on to study for degrees in subjects including medicine, English, philosophy and politics, and geography at the universities of their choice, including Cambridge, York, Leeds and Southampton.”
Notable individuals included Megha Bhandari who gained four A* grades which secured a place at Cambridge University to study medicine, and Emily Bradshaw and Jessica Evans, who were each awarded two A*s and an A, and Naomi James who gained four A grades All A-level drama students achieved A*s and As, whilst 67 per cent of art entries were also awarded one of the top two grades.
