PLACES are still up for grabs at a Southampton music and performance academy.

Following new partnerships with River Studios in Totton and Eastleigh College, Southampton’s Academy of Music and Sound is still accepting applicants for both BTEC and degree programmes to study music performance and music production.

The Academy of Music and Sound gives young musicians the opportunity to specialise and excel in their chosen instrument while gaining valuable performance experience, music theory, music technology and music business training.

The college offers students extra curricular activities as well, including work experience at local festivals, within their own locally-run clubs and regular performance opportunities in Southampton’s vibrant music scene.

Students aged 16 to 18 will be fully funded, and applicants aged 19 to 23 will be cofunded.

Applicants aged over 24 will have access to an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of their courses.

Mature musicians have an opportunity to apply for a BA Hons top-up programme which will earn them a full degree in a single year.

Those wanting to study music are encouraged to contact the Academy of Music and Sound on 023 8082 9666.
