WYVERN College pupils, rallied together to raise £1,505 for youngsters being treated at the Piam Brown ward in Southampton.
Around 270 Year 10 students from the college put on cake sales, chocolate raffles, obstacle races, ice lolly sales and a game of ‘splat the teacher’.
The money raised will be put towards replacing out of date equipment at the hospital, and so far the latest version of the X-box Connect console has been installed as well as a redesign of the ‘chill out’ zone for teenagers at the ward.
Head of Year Mrs Jennie Firth said: “What’s wonderful about this charity is that the students can see for themselves, by visiting the Piam Brown Ward, exactly what the money raised has bought.
“They are, moreover, a credit to the student body at Wyvern and I and the team here are extremely proud of all their efforts.”
