TALENTED young students were the toast of their college at its annual Musician of the Year event.
Pianist Adam Turner won the overall title for his effortless performance of Brahms’ Intermezzo in A, Op.118 No.2.
The judges – Colin New, deputy head of Hampshire Music Service, and Carl Clausen, director at Hampshire County Youth Orchestra – commented on Adam’s assured manner and the way in which he had followed on seamlessly, and to a near comparable standard, from accompanist Roger Owens, the college’s head of keyboard and his current piano teacher.
Adam was one of seven students who performed in this year’s concert along with Tom Chenhall – voice (classical), Dominika Latusek – violin, Katie Macdonald –- flute, Madeleine Ellis – trumpet, and Kathleen Brenner – voice (contemporary).
