SWIMMERS handed over funds to a charity that is supporting a former student who has become a quadruple amputee.
Young people from Peter Symonds College presented a cheque for £393.21 to former student, 33-year-old Alex Lewis, the proceeds of a rowing event.
They set out to row at least 100 kilometres but managed to achieve 1,378.55 km.
Alex, who had all four limbs removed having been infected with a flesh eating bug, said: “I am very grateful, and touched, that they chose to support The Alex Lewis Trust for this event.”
