SIXTH form colleges and secondary schools provided a memorable evening of entertainment in the regional finals of Rock Challenge last night.

Southampton’s Regents Park Community College were pipped to top by spot by Yateley School’s presentation “The Scheme” which told the story of the 7,000 children from British care homes who were shipped to Australia in the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

Regent’s Park Co performance Witch of the Web incorporated comical superheroes to highlight the dangers of modern technology in an innovative love story.

Third place went Richard Taunton Sixth Form College whose performance “Seven for a Secret” was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds”.

Also competing last night at Portsmouth Guildhall were Henry Cort Community College from Fareham, who explored the life Mozart with their offering “The Madness Within”, Barton Peveril Sixth Form College who brought famous books to life in “A World Beyond the Page”, and St Anne’s Catholic School who charmed the audience with their adaptation of “The Owl and The Pussycat”.
