ROMSEY School is celebrating pupils’ successful sporting achievements.
Records were smashed on and off the track during the Priestlands estate-based school’s annual sports day.
Officials report that the overall standard of competition was extremely high, with three new school records set in track and field events.
These were achieved by Jacob Phrachai in the Yr 8 long jump, Louis Blomberg-Smith in the Yr 7 1000m and Amy Farbrother in the Yr 7 high jump.
One of the highlights was the staff relay – three teams were up against a squad of returning Year 11 pupils. Despite the overwhelming encouragement from pupils the staff teams were unable to outrun the youngsters.
When the points were totted up at the end of the sports day pupils in Marsham House scooped top mark in the athletics events.
