RADIO One stars Scott Mills and Chris Stark went back to where it all started for them.

The Student Union at Southampton University was packed with people wanting to get up close and personal with The Scott Mills show.

The Radio One DJ, originally from Eastleigh, has been visiting universities up-and-down the country, experiencing all their quirky traditions.

But Scott wanted to finish the tour with some home comforts with co-presenter Chris also returning to the university where he studied.

Scott said: “We started this idea in Stirling, Scotland and the closer we got to home the more excited I became. I don’t think I have ever been so excited to see a sign for Hedge End.

“I never went to uni but now I feel like I have experienced what uni life is like, but I am very tired and broken now. But on the plus side I get to go home and see my mum.”

Students at the union were treated to the whole BBC experience, with video packages being filmed and having behind the scenes access.

There was even a special guest appearance from Vine sensation Anto Sharp going around the union shop ‘putting things in his basket’ making the students laugh uncontrollably.

“The challenge for us was to not only make the show entertaining for the people with us in the union, but the average listeners at home,” added Scott.

Chris said coming back to his old stomping ground was very nostalgic and a realisation his dream had come true.

He said: “When I was here, Radio One seemed like a world away, but now I come back working for the BBC, it is a dream come true.”
