A SOUTHAMPTON-based school photo company has withdrawn a ‘retouching’ service after a mum complained over the message it sent to children.

Yellow School Photos offered the ‘popular and helpful’ service to remove marks on jumpers, glass glare and scratches, claiming it was not an airbrush service.

But Alexandria Norman, of West Sussex, complained it was removing blemishes and acne which sent the wrong message to children, adding: “The photo’s not supposed to be about perfection”.

She said it would “plant the seed” about a topic that children “should not be thinking about”.

Yellow School Photos managing director Mark Keeling said the service had now been withdrawn and apologised for any offence caused.

He added it was a common feature offered by photographic company and was not designed as an “airbrushing service.”
