Daily Echo:

Hampshire’s most dedicated education professionals will be celebrated in a glittering ceremony in March 2017.

The Daily Echo Education Awards are a brand new initiative aimed at putting the spotlight on the best of the county’s teachers, lollipop people and senior leaders who go above and beyond the calle of duty to give Hampshire’s children the best education they can.

With 11 categories to be judged by education chiefs from Southampton city council at a ceremony at the Grand Harbour hotel, now is your chance to get involved and highlight the schools, teachers and support staff making your child’s time at school the most rewarding time of their life.

The Daily Echo is also looking for sponsors for each of the categories.

Daily Echo:

The categories are: newcomer of the year; supporting staff member of the year; leadership award; voluntary contribution award; community involvement award; innovation award; nursery / primary teacher of the year; middle / secondary teacher of the year; college / sixth form teacher of the year; lifetime achievement award and school or college of the year.

Executive member for education at Hampshire county council councillor Peter Edgar, said: “It is good to see the excellent work of teachers and all school staff celebrated in this way.

"In my view, the vast majority of people that work in our schools go above and beyond every day but award schemes such as this are a great way to put the spotlight on those particularly exceptional people and to inspire others.”
