That's why inspectors from the Office
for Standards in Education (Ofsted)
described the 98-pupil school as
"outstanding" - the highest grade
possible.
They singled out the "robust" assessment
methods designed to keep track
of pupils' progress and complimented
teachers for pitching tasks at the right
level for pupils of different abilities.
Inspectors also found that no
child was overlooked in the Upham
school thanks to its "family atmosphere"
where children were
praised for working hard.
Head teacher PamThrelfall was complimented
for getting the best from her
staff so that teaching is of "a consistently
high quality".
She said: "Children, staff, parents,
governors and friends of Upham
Church of England Primary School
were delighted with the outcome of
their recent Ofsted.
"The school was judged outstanding
in every respect. Such a positive outcome
reflects the commitment and professionalism
of everyone associated
with the school."
The school in has also achieved a gold
