A HAMPSHIRE country park has been voted one of the nation's 10 favourite green spaces.
Queen Elizabeth Country Park, which is run by Hampshire County Council and the Forestry Commission has been ranked eighth out of 1,424 parks in the annual poll, which is organised by Keep Britain Tidy.
The park, which is near Petersfield, is part of Keep Britain Tidy's Green Flag Plus scheme.
Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets, London came top, while Warley Woods in the West Midlands came second and the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus came third.
Green Flag Award scheme manager, Paul Todd, said: "With more than 7,000 votes for the People’s Choice Award, it is fantastic to see how much people value their green spaces, recognising the richness they bring to their lives.
“There is a great range of winning sites from university campuses to cemeteries, proving that it's not just traditional parks which provide places for people to relax and enjoy time out from the frantic pace of modern life.”
