RESEARCHERS from the University of Southampton have released a new publication looking at nutrients that could save some of the world’s coral reefs.

It comes as coral reefs are declining at an alarming rate, and it is feared this could destroy huge swathes of marine life. In the past 30 years about half of them across the globe have been destroyed and experts believe this is down to rising sea levels and carbon emissions making the sea acidic.

The publication which was in a special issue of the journal Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability has contributions from world renowned scientists about the issue.
