A MEETING to discuss funding for flood-hit areas has been cancelled.
Hampshire County Council leader Roy Perry and member for economy, transport and environment were due to meet flood minister Dan Rogerson today in a bid for millions of pounds of Government funding.
This was to both help repair roads damaged by floods and invest in flood defences.
But the minister has cancelled the scheduled meeting due to illness.
After months of rainfall and unprecedented flooding, the County Council has already identified more than 300 locations where extensive and costly structural repair work is needed at an estimated £36m.
This includes roads that have been underwater and rural roads used as diversions.
The repair bill is expected to rise once water levels reduce enough to inspect flooded roads and check on the damage to river bridges and structures.
