CHILDREN at a Southampton nursery have been creatively celebrating Climate Week.
The Co-operative Childcare on Warren Crescent got involved in the climate change campaign by making a sensory and music area from recyclable materials.
Using tins, plastic and paper they had collected the children worked together to form a playful learning zone and also helped nursery staff put food waste on their compost heap.
Nursery manager, Linda Hopkins said: “Getting the children involved with Climate Week was a really fun way of teaching them about the importance of recycling. It brought an understanding that we can all do something small to help combat climate change if we work together.
“It is definitely something that we plan on continuing in the future here, and will become a part of our day to day activity.”
