Trapped fox rescued by fire specialist

The trapped fox The trapped fox

A FOX cub had to be rescued after getting stuck between two garages for almost two days.

Animal rescue specialist Buster Brown, from Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service was called on Monday evening to help free the young animal, which had been trapped for 36 hours.

Using chimney rods to gently reach the cub the specialist was able to work out how far away the cub was and, with permission from the owner of the garage, used a drill, hammer, bolster and chisel to remove the bricks from inside the garage wall, in Emsworth, to reach the fox.

Buster said: "Once a hole was made I realised the cub had moved slightly so I had to make another. This process took nearly two hours as I had to remove the bricks carefully to ensure I didn't injure the animal."

After the fox was rescued it was checked over by Buster and released.

Great story. Animal welfare always outweighs those b*st*rds who want to hunt foxes with hounds!

The more cats it eats the better.

Only in this country would someone be reading a story about a fox when an 93 year old pensioner is beaten in her own home.

Irony means NOTHING, I'm afraid Georgem. I could say that why you're sitting at your computer making comments on these stories, people are starving in the world. It means nothing whatsoever!!

It's aimed at bigfella77, who made the same comment - without a tongue in cheek - on another story.
