Buses should carry first-aid kits, says parish councillor

All buses should carry a first-aid kit. That's the view of Alan Bulpit, who was re-elected as transport representative at Nursling and Rownhams Parish Council's annual meeting, on Tuesday.

He referred to an incident in which it had been difficult to help a passenger who was bleeding badly as no first-aid equipment was available.

Chairman, Phil Bundy, complained about parking in roads such as Nutshalling Avenue, which inconvenienced residents because Rownhams school did not allow parents to drive into the school car park.

Brian Richards noted that there were temporary class rooms at Rownhams and suggested that Nursling should oppose these when they came up for temporary planning permission renewal on account of traffic problems.

Borough councillor, Nigel Anderdon, reiterating the parish council's opposition to a gypsy camp at Lee Lane.

To do away with the contamination at the former dump would not be worth it he said. If they could not get rid of methane anyone lighting gas fires or cookers would risk an explosion.

New tables, 52 in number and costing £5,500, have arrived for the village hall and community centre.

The parish made a contribution towards the cost which was mainly met through grants, including one from the county council.
