POLICE are warning residents to be wary of cowboy workmen after an elderly man paid £85 for grass cutting by two men who also demanded money for repairs not done.
The men called at the house of a man in his 80s in The Drove, Andover, and offered a grass-cutting service.
The occupant accepted their offer to cut his lawn but declined when they offered to repair his shed.
When the men had finished they said they had done the repairs to the shed anyway and demanded money for the work.
The pensioner refused to pay when he realised they had not done the repairs. He paid the £85 for the grass-cutting.
