YOUNG journalists have written their inside scoop on a fire which broke out at their Wedmore school.
Hugh Sexey Middle School in Blackford opened on January 31 – just over a week after the school was evacuated when the blaze broke out in an electrical cabinet.
No pupils were hurt, but lessons were disrupted while workmen tended to the damage.
In the aftermath of the fire the children were given homework to write a newspaper article detailing the drama.
Head teacher Jenny Venning said: “The teachers were all very impressed with the articles, written by our budding young journalists.
“They are currently on display at the school.”
