A MUM yesterday pleaded with government ministers to support the funding of a drug that could help her son Jagger live longer.
As reported in yesterday’s Daily Echo Jules Geary from Romsey travelled to London to help hand in a 22,000 signature petition calling on NHS England to fund a drug that could increase life expectancy and the quality of life for boys who have Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
She took part in a lobby session with ministers which outlined how the commissioning of the drug could help scores of sufferers but that time was running out as the drug is only effective if taken while the patient is still mobile.
