AN inquest heard how a woman left her home in an “immaculate condition” as she prepared to take her own life.

The coroner was told how Christine Flavell, 56, was found hanged at her home in Totton, after her brother raised the alarm.

John Flavell said he had not been able to reach her for about two weeks before he drove from his home in the West Midlands on November 5 to his sister’s house in Salisbury Road.

PC Jon York, who found her, told the hearing Miss Flavell had written a detailed note addressed to her brother.

She had also turned off the house’s appliances and tidied the house.

“The house was immaculate. She tidied up ready for the decision she’d made,” said PC York.

Recording a verdict of suicide, senior coroner for south Hampshire, Grahame Short, said: “It’s clear she suffered from anxiety and depression.

"She had struggled to cope with her job, which she resigned from in July and her letter makes it clear she felt she didn’t have the confidence to get another job.”
