HELP is on hand for Hampshire’s 15,000 cataract sufferers at two free information evenings.
The sessions will be held at Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital in Chandler’s Ford this evening (Wednesday October 14) and October 21.
Consultants will be on hand during the evenings to offer advice and answer questions.
Consultant Ophthalmologist, Mr David Anderson said “We know that cataracts affect a large number of people in the region, and our figures show that about one in a hundred people are living with the condition.’’ Mr Anderson said cataracts can develop slowly and sufferers often forget how their vision once was.
With almost 400,000 surgeries conducted a year cataract surgery is the most frequently performed procedures in the UK and one of the safest, he added.
Both events start at 6.30pm and anyone interested in attending can book a space by calling 02380 258464.
