AMBULANCE bosses are looking for Southampton residents to volunteer to become first responders.
South Central Ambulance Services (SCAS) is looking for more people to join its Community First Responder (CFR) scheme.
The volunteers, who are put through a five-day course before becoming a first responder, will deal with medical emergencies, providing first aid in the crucial minutes before an ambulance arrives.
As well as training, SCAS will provide equipment to volunteers, who are asked to give 20 hours each month.
Anyone interested is asked to call 0800 587 0207, or email cfr@scas.nhs.uk.
