THE countdown has begun as one charity strives to get Southampton caught up in red and white fever once again.
With just weeks to go until the second Red & White Appeal Day, Southampton Hospital Charity is looking for volunteers to take to the streets on a fundraising mission.
Volunteers will be needed on the day and in the lead-up to the Daily Echo-backed event, on March 9, visiting community groups and businesses or spreading the word around the hospital to get people involved.
Money raised will go towards a £1.76m specialist treatment centre for blood cancer patients. So far more than £1m has been raised. To volunteer, take part in an event or make a donation call 023 8079 8881.
Staff from PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Ocean Village dressed in red and white to support the day, while Greg Rubins shaved his legs as part of the fundraising.
