A CAMPAIGN aimed at showing how hoax calls to the ambulance service can cost lives has won two awards.

South Central Ambulance Service ’s (SCAS) 999 Misuse Costs Lives campaign has won a silver award in the Consumer Film category and a bronze in the Consumer Mixed Media category at the IPA Best of Health Awards.

SCAS launched the campaign, which included an online video, to highlight the fact the service received 1,200 hoax calls last year, dragging vital resources away from those in need.
