A MOTORIST has been
cleared of deliberately
driving his 4x4 pick-up
truck at three
Hampshire traffic wardens
after being given a
parking ticket.
Jurors unanimously acquitted
Stephen Rouse of dangerous
driving following the incident in
which the council workers said
they were forced to flee for their
lives as the Toyota Hilux sped
towards them.
But Rouse, 25, was convicted of
the lesser offence of careless
driving, and admitted using
threatening behaviour for hurling
abuse at one of the Fareham
Borough Council workers who
issued his £30 fine.
He had left his truck parked on
double yellow lines and with two
wheels obstructing the kerb
while he visited a nearby bank
in Park Gate, near Southampton.
Moments after the altercation,
in which he insulted two of the
attendants and threatened the
third, Portsmouth Crown Court
heard Rouse got into his vehicle
and sped into the Middle Street
car park.
A pedestrian told police he was
so concerned at the speed of the
4x4 he had to step back as it hurtled
past him, even though he
wasn't in the way of the vehicle.

The three traffic attendants
then spotted the truck coming in
their direction.
I could walk around Park Gate in 3 minutes, why has it got 3 traffic wardens on patrol at the same time, in the same road? Theyre vultures after car owners blood.

I think this man is a hero.
I am still waiting for the cast of Top Gear to do a special involving running over traffic wardens.
Or even better. Richard Hammond could blow up traffic wardens rather than Caravans when filming Braniac. That would make excellent viewing.

Traffic Wardens are parasites, the grit which blocks the gear box of life. In a hurry, need to use a cash line machine ?, you can guarantee there'll be a parasite hanging around ready to pounce. Held up in the queue, over stay by five minutes, ?another £30 fine. What astounds me is that anybody makes a career choice to be a traffic warden. I'd rather clean toilets. Ban the lot of them.

Dear Sue of Southampton, clearly NOT a driver - make sure you don't chain your bike to the railings or lamp post - they'll have you too! Use a proper bike stand half a mile away. Bike vandalised? Never mind. You'll soon learn

Yep, it's perfectly reasonable for a psychopath to threaten to kill people and drive at them - all because he parked illegally!?!?
You park illegally and you get a fine. You don't like getting fined, don't park where you shouldn't. How hard is it?
And yes, I am a driver, thanks. Not a blameless one either, but I understand the concept of 'you break the law, you get punished.' Much of the righteous indignation here seems to stem from individuals who apparently think they should have the god-given right to park wherever they want.....

Well said Gts.
Why do people demand blood when a thug spray-paints their house & property (because he could), yet they become the victims when they get a parking ticket.
Stop this double-standard nonsense. Either live by our laws, or sod off to another country.

I hate traffic wardens too, but they're there to do a job.
If you don't give them reason to give you a ticket then you're safe.
Otherwise, if you want to run the risk, then prepare to pay the price.
Those complaining are just sore losers. But then, they'll deny that too.

Goodie Two Shoes and Thorn clearly live such simple and unhurried lives that they never fall foul of these parasites. Pleased to read that you pay up so willingly when through no fault of your own you get stung for "over staying tax" which is all that parking fines are. I'm not talking about leaving a car blocking the road on double yellow lines, its when they jump on you for being five minutes late or using an empty "residents only" bay when you need a fiver out of the cash line to pay the parking fee. I'll know where to send my fines now. If you've not been caught by one of the little s*ds yet, then you clearly don't get out enough.
Anyway, he was found NOT GUILTY of driving his car at them, so GTS clearly can't read either.

As a driving instructor, the question i am asked frequestly from my pupils is "why do people who park illegally think they have a right to break the law ?" I dont have an answer for that one
