Businesses from across Hampshire are joining forces and lacing up their trainers to help find a cure for juvenile diabetes.

More than 40 senior managers from companies including BAA, Ford and Fortis Insurance got out of bed early to pledge their support at the launch of the Walk to Cure Diabetes.

The guests attended a special breakfast at Paultons Park to learn how they can take part in one of the south's biggest charity events, organised by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

Last summer a carnival atmosphere descended on Itchen Valley Country Park as more than 1,500 walkers limbered up for the cause, raising £126,000.

This year's five-mile sponsored walk will take place on September 14, at Itchen Valley Country Park.

For more details about taking part in the walk contact the fundraising office on 023 8058 6269 or visit jdrf.org.uk.
