BUDDING sports reporters are being given the chance of a lifetime to cover the Olympic Games in Beijing this summer.
Southern Daily Echo owners Newsquest have joined forces with McDonald's in the hunt for a Champion Kid.
The winning youngster will file reports, pictures, videos and blogs direct to Newsquest Internet sites and will have entry to selected Olympic events, accommodation, transport and all meals included.
You can even take a parent.
The Champion Kid will also gain unprecedented access to the Olympic village - not even real journalists are allowed in there - and will receive a whirlwind tour of China, including a trip to the Great Wall of China.
Entrants must be between ten and 14 years and must show their journalistic skills by telling us, in no more than 150 words, about their favourite Olympic Games event, moment or athlete.
Double Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell is backing the competition.
He said: "We are looking for children who are passionate about sport and journalism.
"What better way to combine the two than through McDonald's Champion Kids competition where they will experience and report on the amazing Olympic Games?"
Entries must be made via dailyecho.co.uk/olympiccomp.
