A WINCHESTER artist is taking part in a groundbreaking project linking plants, archives and art.

Catharine Clarke is the artist in residence at the Hampshire Record Office in Winchester.

Every Thursday until the end of June she is working in the foyer of the Sussex Street centre, creating work for an exhibition later this year.

Digging through the Archives: A Botanical Journey Round the County focuses on horticulture in Hampshire and runs at the record office from August 4 to October 31.
