COUNCIL chiefs have unveiled plans to build a new block of public loos in Hill Head, as part of a wider £300,000 two-year project to spruce up toilets.

The toilets at Cliff Road, next to Hill Head Sailing Club, near Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve, will be moved from their current location to a new spot adjacent to the car park, making them much more accessible for the disabled.

The work, and that to upgrade other public loos across Fareham borough, is still planned after feedback from a public survey, despite the experiences at Holly Hill Woodland Park, near Sarisbury Green.

A block there was replaced last year at a cost of £45,000, but was vandalised within a week of reopening.

The new Hill Head building, which will include baby changing and disabled facilities, will be built with a steep roof in an attempt to deter would-be vandals.
