FIREFIGHTERS stopped a blaze which had started in a car engulfing a home in Chandler's Ford last night.
The drama happened at about 11pm when an Eastleigh fire crew were called to a detached house in Tees Close, Valley Park.
The fire had started in the engine compartment, believed to be caused by an electrical fault, which had been parked on the driveway.
It then spread to a nearby car and to a lean to porch near the garage. The occupants got out of the house and raised the alarm.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Another 10 minutes and it could have been a full house fire. But we managed to stop it very quickly."
About six firefighters dealt with the incident and were on the scene for about an hour.
