MILLIONS of pounds of funding for transport in Southampton and Hampshire could soon be available.
The city council’s Cabinet has voted to sign up for a local transport body (LTB) agreement for the Solent area.
The agreement will see the council working alongside other authorities in the region to bid for funding.
An estimated £29 million is expected to be made available by the Department for Transport (DfT) for transport improvements in the Solent area from 2015-19.
The agreement will be sent to the DfT for final approval later this year.
