A GREEN Party candidate today formally launched her bid to become Southampton Test MP.
Angela Mawle was joined by local Green Party candidates and activists for a launch event at The Dolphin pub in Southampton today.
She says she would look to tackle deprivation in the constituency and look to improve the health of residents if elected at next year's General Election.
Speaking today, she said: “My vision is, for a city where life expectation is not determined by postcode or wealth.
“Every policy of the Green Party in our manifesto will actively improve the health of the people of Southampton from insulating the city's homes to setting up a core network of safe cycle routes and from improving air quality to developing community spaces where families and children can relax and enjoy the natural environment.”
Mrs Mawle, a former Labour party city councillor, is a public health expert, having been Chief Executive of the UK Public Health Association and a Visiting Fellow in the subject at the University of Southampton's Medical School.
