PRO-DEMOCRACY campaigners marched through Southampton to highlight their opposition to Bangladesh's Prime Minister.
The group chanted, shouted, sang and held placards with messages protesting the re-election of Sheikh Hasina as they walked through the city centre.
Beginning at the Shahjalal Mosque, the group of about 30 campaigners stopped at the peace fountain in East Park for speeches before finishing at the headquarters of BBC South.
Organiser Rashid Islam said: "In Bangladesh there is no political freedom and any dissent is being cracked down on.
"We have had a national newspaper editor who has been arrested on trumped up charges and as a British citizen and someone who is descended from Bangladesh I feel it's our duty to speak up."
The group chanted 'we want justice' and 'Hasina no more' before Mr Islam made an impassioned speech calling on the media and politicians to do more to highlight problems in the South Asian country.
He says the group will start a petition and pressure Hampshire MPs to get involved.
