A HOME improvement scheme was thrown out after being described as “pretty crude”.
Keel Property Developers was refused permission to build a single-storey extension to a bungalow in Newlands Road, New Milton.
Members of New Forest District Council went against the advice of planning officers and rejected the application.
Cllr Alan Rice said: “It’s a pretty crude design that’s out of keeping. I don’t think an awful lot of thought has gone into it.”
Cllr Tony Swain described the design as “very poor” and added: “The proposed extension will have an overbearing impact on the neighbours.”
The application was rejected by nine votes to six.
