A PROTEST was held outside the headquarters of a Southampton-based cruise giant.
More than 10 people gathered outside Carnival's headquarters in Harbour Parade to support the United Steelworkers Union.
The protest will support workers at Crown Packaging in Canada who have been on strike since September 2013 over a dispute about scrapping the cost of living allowance and wage cuts.
It was held outside Carnival as its Chief Executive, Arnold Donald, is on the board of directors at Crown.
National officer for Unite Ian Tonks, said: "Crown are trying to impose a 46 per cent reduction in wages to new starters.
"Mr Donald helps make decisions where he cuts the wages of Canadian workers that is why we are here today."
A spokesperson for Carnival said: “This action is totally unrelated to Carnival Corporation and its brands.
"Instead, it is an attempt to draw attention to a bargaining campaign in a different industry by a small number of steelworkers in Canada who have targeted Arnold Donald who is a board member of Crown Holdings. “
