PEOPLE who have died in their workplaces were remembered at a special memorial event in Southampton.
Current workers, union members and political candidates gathered at the memorial bench in East Park to mark International Workers Memorial Day.
There they heard speeches from Ian Woodland, regional Unite organiser, and Phil Wood, the regional secretary for the South East for Unison.
The memorial day was first introduced in the USA in 1970 and has spread across the world, now being marked in countries as diverse as Malta, Thailand and Panama.
