PLANS for three homes are being recommended for approval when they come before councillors despite local concerns.

A planning application has been made to Eastleigh Borough Council for a pair of two storey semi-detached two bedroom dwellings fronting onto Burlsedon Road and a four bedroom home fronting onto Alexandra Road.

Access to car parking would be via Alexandra Road.

The proposal also includes cutting back hedges to improve visibility on the Bursledon Road and Alexandra Road junction.

But seven letters have been received which raise concern about adding to existing parking problems on Alexandra Road, increased traffic at the junction and consequent highways concerns, overdevelopment.

A revised scheme has still attracted three objections and Hedge End Town Council has also objected.

However, the council officer’s report, which recommends approval, concluded that the application complied with parking and highway safety requirements.

It stated that the view of motorists at the junction had been a key concern of residents which the applicant proposed to improve.

The plans will be considered by members of the Hedge End, West End and Botley Local Area Committee at the Hedge End 2000 Centre, in St John’s Road, Hedge End on Monday at 7pm.
