THE leader of East Hampshire District Council has resigned blaming the pressures of business and personal interests.
David Parkinson will remain as a district councillor for East Meon ward.
Deputy leader Patrick Burridge takes over as acting leader.
The Conservative group of councillors will meet on September 23 to decide who should be party leader, who will then be proposed as council leader to the full council meeting on Wednesday, October 13.
