A HAMPSHIRE MP wants her community to benefit from moves to regenerate the country’s high streets.
Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage, pictured, is calling for the town to be selected as a pilot in the wake of a national review into high streets and their future.
During a debate in the House of Commons, she pointed to the number of empty shops in Gosport and the poor state of the Post Office.
During the debate, Ms Dinenage praised the success of the shops in Stubbington village centre despite difficult trading conditions, but condemned the “crazy idea” of the proposed introduction of parking charges.
